Three everyday examples for this design.

On linen-change day, open the cover flat and lay the duvet onto it before closing the three sides.
When changing to a seasonal duvet, align all four corners while the cover is still open.
After the duvet shifts inside, open the sides to straighten it on the bed instead of reaching through a narrow opening.

THE IDEA BEHIND IT

A small detail,
thought all the way through.

A continuous zipper opens three edges while one short edge keeps the two panels aligned. This direction is intended to reduce reaching inside a conventional cover, but total changing time must beat a simple cover in user trials.
