Three everyday examples for this design.

Define an individual place setting for a plate, cutlery and a glass at breakfast.
Set a simple lunch place on a desk, then lift the placemat for cleaning after the meal.
Use matching placemats for a relaxed dinner table and wipe small spills from both sides afterwards.

THE IDEA BEHIND IT

A small detail,
thought all the way through.

The flat pebble outline gives a place setting a soft boundary without adding grooves for crumbs. Color is kept to one edge, leaving the tableware in focus.
